ACIDD recognizes the urgent need to address and educate the public about the seriousness of the mental illness. In the context of COVID-19 pandemic, it is evident that there is a substantial increase in mental health issues in the world. People are more anxious and depressed, substance use has increased, and social issues such as domestic violence, crime, and child abuse have been flourishing. With a lack of planning, it is currently inevitable that there is growing loneliness among people due to social distancing. The difficult moment in time offers the opportunity to understand how to provide prevention-focused psychological first aid and mental health care. The pandemic has become a unique threat.

World Mental Health Day on April 7, 2022, brought awareness of our planet, and our health. A polluted planet has increased diseases like cancer, asthma, and heart disease. Our political, social, and commercial decisions are driving the climate and health crisis. The pandemic has revealed weaknesses in all areas of society that underlined the urgency of creating sustainable well-being societies to achieve equitable health.
